OIL PAINTING WIPs

Some WIPs of an oil painting I am working on – the first one after so many years. It feels simply great to mix colours again and to feel the brushes touch the canvas. 😃

The painting depicts the pool scene in my wonderful buddy’s A.F. Henley’s marvelous novel The Chase and the Catch, showing main character John Liege getting some attention by erotic movie star Parker Chase.

A lot of the background is done and I started colouring John so this is in a very early stage. Boy, was I nervous to mix real colours for skin tones again and painting a body with brushes. Good thing that oil paints are so forgiving!

I thought it would also be fun to share a picture of my palette with the mixed skin tones. It looks a bit messy admittedly. 😄
